Prior to co-founding Snowdon, Dan was the CEO of SOS Tutoring, a leading educational services company that provides exam review sessions for university and college students across Canada and the U.S. Prior to SOS, Dan was an investment professional with Bertram Capital, an $850 million growth oriented middle-market private equity firm based in Silicon Valley. While at Bertram, he focused on buy-and-build investments in manufacturing and industrial services. Dan spent the first two years of his career as a consultant with McKinsey & Company, where he advised clients on growth strategy, operations and due diligence in Canada, the U.S. and Europe.
Dan holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering with a minor in Management from McGill University, where he graduated with Distinction.
Dan is a native Montrealer, and enjoys traveling, cycling and skiing. He has completed 3 sprint triathlons and 2 Rides to Conquer Cancer since 2010.
Prior to co-founding Snowdon, Liroy was an investment professional with Oaktree Capital Management, an $80 billion investment firm headquartered in Los Angeles. While at Oaktree, he evaluated and executed private equity investments in the transportation, energy and financial services sectors. Liroy was also responsible for supporting portfolio companies with their operations, most recently leading process improvement initiatives during the restructuring of Hansa Heavy Lift, a German shipping company. He spent the first two years of his career as an investment banker with Lazard & Frères, advising private equity firms and corporations on mergers, acquisitions, turnarounds and other strategic mandates.
Liroy holds an MBA from Harvard Business School, and a Bachelor’s degree in Commerce with a major in Finance from McGill University, where he graduated with Great Distinction.
Liroy is a native Montrealer, and enjoys squash, basketball and traveling. He is passionate about innovation in the creative process, recently winning 1st place in renowned chef Ferran Adrià’s ideas4transformation business plan contest.

Howard Balloch is a private investor and corporate director. He was founder and Chairman of The Balloch Group, a private investment advisory and merchant banking firm specializing in China until it was sold to Canaccord Financial in 2011. Mr. Balloch previously served as Canada’s Ambassador to China, Mongolia and North Korea, Deputy Secretary in the Privy Council Office, and Assistant Deputy Minister for Asia Pacific during a 25 year career in the Canadian public service, after which he also served as President and Vice Chairman of the Canada China Business Council. Both in his Ambassadorial position and in government in Canada, he was closely associated with the expansion of business ties between Canada and Asia, refocusing many government programs to be more supportive of the private sector.
Mr. Balloch holds a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Political Science and Economics and a Master's degree in International Relations, both from McGill University.
André Courtemanche is the founder of Viavar Capital, a Montréal-based private equity firm. Prior to forming Viavar in 2005, he founded Steltor in 1988, a collaborative software company in Montréal, which was ultimately acquired by Oracle Corporation in 2002. Its technology has since been incorporated into Oracle’s suite of products. Before its acquisition, Steltor marketed its software directly and supplied the time management product used in versions of Netscape Navigator. Mr. Courtemanche serves as a director on a number of company boards including Mediagrif Interactive Technologies Inc. (MDF.TO)
Mr. Courtemanche holds a Bachelor and a Master of Science in Computer Science, both from McGill University.
Pierre Donaldson is the Chairman and CEO of Aheeva, a leading contact center technology solutions provider. He has more than 30 years of experience in the software industry both as an operator and as a venture capitalist. Prior to joining Aheeva, Mr. Donaldson was Executive Chairman of Planora Inc. (acquired by Red Prairie Inc. in July 2012). He was also a partner at JLA Ventures and the BlackBerry Partners Fund. Mr. Donaldson played a leadership role in a number of companies in North America and in Europe: Bioscrypt Inc., Descartes Systems Group, Treasury Services Corporation (acquired by Oracle), Virtual Prototypes Inc. and Dun & Bradstreet Software.
Mr. Donaldson holds a Bachelor of Commerce from l’École des Hautes Études Commerciales (H.E.C.) in Montréal.
Marcel Dutil is the founder of Manac Inc., the largest manufacturer of custom-built and specialty semitrailers in North America. In addition, he is the Chairman of the Canam Group (TSE: CAM), the largest fabricator of steel components in Canada. Mr. Dutil founded Manac in St. Georges de Beauce, Québec in 1966 and subsequently acquired Canam Steel in 1972. He oversaw both companies' growth. In addition to serving on the boards of Manac Inc. and Canam Group Inc., he is a director of The Jean Coutu Group.
Mr. Dutil is a Member of the Order of Canada, a Knight of the Ordre national du Québec, and remains an active contributor to the Beauce region through a variety of organizations.
Georges Karam is a co-founder and partner at Impulse Capital, a private investment firm specializing in venture capital. Prior to Impulse, he co-founded and grew Atelka into a leading business process outsourcer (BPO) in Canada. Mr. Karam is also a co-founder of Aheeva, which provides advanced technology solutions to call centers. Mr. Karam is a member of Anges Québec and is committed to supporting numerous philanthropic initiatives.
Mr. Karam holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from the University of Québec in Montréal (UQAM) and an MBA from the École des Hautes Études Commerciales (H.E.C.) in Montréal.
Francois Lambert is a co-founder and partner at Impulse Capital, a private investment firm specializing in venture capital. He recently became a judge on Radio-Canada's successful series "Dans l'oeil du dragon", the French version of the CBC's "Dragon's den". Prior to Impulse, Mr. Lambert co-founded and grew Atelka into a leading business process outsourcer (BPO) in Canada. He is also a co-founder of Aheeva, which provides advanced technology solutions to call centers. Mr. Lambert is a member of Anges Québec.
Mr. Lambert holds a Bachelor's degree in Administration from the University of Québec en Outaouais.
Maurice Pinsonnault is the founder and CEO of Angelcare, a global leader in baby care and hygiene disposal products. Mr. Pinsonnault is a lifelong inventor and entrepreneur who has developed and acquired a variety of consumer products and successfully marketed them worldwide.
Mr. Pinsonnault is an active philanthropist who supports a number of charitable causes across Québec.

Guy Savard & Family
Guy Savard is a Special Advisor to the law firm of Osler, Hoskin and Harcourt, based in their Montréal office. Prior to Osler, he was Chairman of Merrill Lynch Canada and manager of its Montréal office. Prior to this, Mr. Savard was the president and chief operating officer of Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec. He started his career as a chartered accountant where he headed a number of offices of national chartered accounting firms. Mr. Savard is a recipient of the Order of Canada and the Hermes designation conferred by Laval University. He is also actively involved in the Montréal community where he serves on a number of philanthropic boards, including as the Chairman of the Fondation du CHUM Capital Campaign Cabinet.
Mr. Savard holds a Bachelor of Commerce and a Master's degree in Commercial Sciences and Accounting, both from Laval University. He also holds a diploma from Havard University in specialized management. He was awarded an honorary doctorate from St. Francis Xavier University.
Pierre Thabet is President of Boa-Franc, a Canadian manufacturer of pre-finished hardwood floors, since 1983. He is also involved in different ventures in manufacturing, finance and real estate. Mr. Thabet sits on the boards of the National Bank of Canada, and of Canam Group Inc. (TSE: CAM), the largest fabricator of steel components in Canada. Mr. Thabet is also an active contributor to the Beauce region in Québec, notably as an entrepreneur-trainer at the École d’entrepreneurship de Beauce, a school dedicated to training entrepreneurs in all industries.
Mr. Thabet holds a Bachelor's degree in Administration, specializing in Accounting, from Université de Moncton.
